Application for Fresh Passport

The fee structure for obtaining a brand-new passport is as follows. Unless otherwise stated, new passports are valid for 10 years.

Note: For applications for new passports, minor applicants (individuals 8 and under) and senior citizens (individuals 60 and over) will receive a rebate of 10% of the base passport fee.

For individuals below the age of 15

Below is the fee structure for renewing or reissuing a passport after it has expired.

Note: If an individual loses or damages a passport that has not expired, the fee for reissuing the passport is INR 5,000.

Tatkal Passport Time

Unlike standard passport applications, tatkal passport applications usually undergo a short verification process. Passports are generally issued and sent to the applicant within 1-3 days of the application date. The date on which the applicant submits the necessary documents and supporting documents to the relevant passport Seva Kendra is considered the date of application. Any application submitted through the Tatkal program also ensures early appointment and fast processing of applications through a specific queue.

If police verification is required, the passport will be sent to the applicant on the third day, excluding the date of application. There is no need to wait for the results of the completed police verification.

If no police verification is required, tatkaled passports will be sent to those concerned within one day, not including the date of application.
