HP Saur Sinchai Yojana 2022: Himachal Pradesh government is implementing Saur Sinchai Yojana (solar irrigation system) to double farmers income by 2022. State government. will provide solar pump sets to farmers for agricultural/irrigation purposes. Under this scheme, the government will provide 90% financial assistance to small marginal farmers for the purchase of motor pump units. Govt. provides an 80% subsidy to all medium and large farmers.
HP Saur Sinchai Yojana 2022
100% financial assistance will be given to a group of small and marginal category farmers / Kisan Vikas Sanghs / Registered Farmers Organization. Under this program, 5,850 agricultural pumps will be made available to farmers. The state government. will also start Flow Irrigation Scheme with an expenditure of 174 crore.
The HP Saur Sinchai project will irrigate 7152.30 hectares of agricultural land. The main objective of this program is to “double the income of farmers by 2022”. The main objective is to increase the total production of agricultural and horticultural products.

In the state of Himachal Pradesh, the government. launched Saur Sinchai Yojana to enable farmers to irrigate using solar energy. For Saur Sinchai projects, the HP government. has allocated Rs. 230 crores. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been approved by NABARD. In this program, farmers will receive an 80% to 100% subsidy on the purchase of solar pump sets.

Objectives of Saur Sinchai Yojana
Previously, farmers used sets of diesel and electric pumps for irrigation purposes, which increased the total cost of inputs. Additionally, irrigation projects that run on electricity also have high input costs. The cost of electricity is borne by the Agriculture Department of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Salient Features of HP Saur Sinchayee Yojana
Important features and highlights of this solar farm pump program are as follows:-
- HP government. will supply 5,850 agricultural motor pump units to farmers.
- When purchasing new sets of agricultural pumps, each small marginal farmer will receive financial assistance of about 90% of the total cost.
- In addition, all medium and large farmers will receive an 80% subsidy on the purchase of new agricultural motor pump units.
- The state government. will implement this program with an expenditure of Rs. 230 crores.
- About 7152.30 hectares of land would be brought under assured irrigation.
Pradhan Mantri Sinchai Yojana in Himachal Pradesh
Over the next 3 years, solar projects will be launched on about 17,881 hectares of land with an estimated cost of Rs. 338 crores under PM Sinchai Yojana. In this scheme, approximately 111 units would be installed. For this scheme, the central government. has already posted Rs. 49 crores to the HP state government.
In the Saur Sinchai Yojana, State Government. will provide sets of solar agricultural pumps to farmers. For HP Saur Sinchai Yojana, State Government. will spend Rs. 224 crores.
