About Digital India Internship Scheme 2022
The Digital India Internship scheme is launched by the GOI (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology). Through this internship scheme, students get internships so that they can gain practical knowledge before entering the corporate world. This internship is offered in different sectors so that the students can gain knowledge and experience in different sectors. The minimum duration of the internship is 2 months, which can be extended by a maximum of 3 months. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will be responsible for the formulation, implementation and assessment of the Digital India Internship Scheme. All students of India can benefit from this scheme.
Every year there are about 50 places available for an internship in New Delhi. The interns will be shortlisted and selected by the respective organization through face-to-face or Skype interviews and the list of all selected candidates will be displayed on the portal. To be eligible under this scheme, a student must have obtained at least 60% of the points in the most recent diploma or certificate.

Selection of Interns
- The respective organization or group or department for the respective domain is responsible for shortlisting and selecting the interns
- To select the intern, a face-to-face or Skype interview will be conducted
- No TA or DA will be paid to the candidates for attending face-to-face interviews
- List of all selected candidates is displayed on the web portal
Code of Conduct for Interns
- The interns must follow all the rules and regulations that all employees of the ministry follow
- Confidentiality protocol of the ministry must be followed by the trainee
- The intern cannot claim any intellectual property right
- Sponsoring institution and students are not entitled to the result of the project work
- The Ministry owns all intellectual property rights to patents, design, software copyright, publication etc. generated during the project (Digital India Internship Scheme 2022)
- In order to present the work to the academic institutions and at seminars or conferences, the intern must obtain permission from the Ministry in advance
- All trainees are obliged to follow the advice of the Ministry regarding representation to third parties
- The intern cannot interact with or represent the ministry in front of third parties
- However, depending on the nature of the roles and responsibilities, some interns may be authorized to communicate with third parties on behalf of the Minister (Digital India Internship Scheme 2022)
- Interns are not allowed to represent the ministry to the media
- Interns must maintain a professional relationship with the Ministry and the public in general
- The trainees must be present on the premises of the Ministry from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. unless otherwise permitted
- Own accommodation must be arranged by the intern during the internship
- The Ministry’s library facility is limited to referral only
- Intern cannot borrow books. But interns can take xerox copies from the library on payment of the necessary fees
- If the intern’s performance is found to be insufficient, the ministry can advise the intern to terminate the project work before the internship period
Submission of paper under Digital India Internship Scheme 2022
- The supervisors or mentors will develop a work plan and work schedules and the interns will adhere to it
- At the end of the internship, the intern must submit a report on the work he or she has done during the duration of the internship at the Ministry
- The project report prepared by the intern must be identical in all respects and submitted to the sponsoring institution where the intern is registered and the Ministry
- The student must submit a certificate without application to the Ministry after completing the internship, along with a soft and hard copy of the project report
- The certificate that will accompany the project report must have the cover sheet and all certificates in the project report must show that the project work has been carried out at the ministry
- The project receipt must state the name of the supervisor or mentor
Eligibility Criteria Of Digital India Internship Scheme 2022
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of India
- The student studied at the recognized university in India
- Applicant must have obtained at least 60% marks in the last completed diploma or certificate exam and pursuing BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech/M.Sc(Electrinics)/MCA/DoEACC ‘B’ Level/LLB also come eligible
- Those students who are in the last semester and pass out in the summer of 2021 are not eligible for internship
- Students who are in the previous 1 year are eligible
- LLB students are only eligible for an internship in the field of cyber law / IT act
- If a candidate has a minimum qualification as above, this does not guarantee an internship
- If a candidate is known in the field of the envisaged internship and has a good academic background and higher qualification, this candidate will be preferred
